Autumn 1 Week 1

Welcome to Year 2

The children have had a lovely start to the new school year and were excited to share all their holiday news. They learnt about The Year of Pilgrimage in assembly and wrote what they can do to grow closer to God on footsteps, which are displayed in the hall.

In class Year 2 took part in collective worship and decorated their prayer table  and board to reflect the start of the year. They also learnt what a pilgrimage is and why people go on them.

In Maths the children have been revising number bonds and making numbers to 20 using doubles.

Summer 2 Week 6

Fun Day has been fantastic!

Our morning started with a bouncy castle and a Nerve Gun Shoot out! Then we chose glitter tattoos and tested our driving skills on the go-karts.

The fun continued after lunch with face painting, a fruit and sweet stall, hook the duck, splat the rat and many other traditional fun fair games.

Everyone loved the water sponge and obstacle stations too. At the end of the day we all had our faces painted and enjoyed an ice lolly together.

Thank you to all the parent helpers for making the Fun Day one to remember!

Have a lovely weekend

English – Please think about what trouble a monster might cause at school and how the children might teach the monster how to behave. Bring an A4 piece of paper with ideas (not a whole story) on, that can be used to support their story writing in class. For example would they; Chase the teachers? Eat all the pizza? Teach the children to roar/fly/breath fire? Break all the chairs? Smash the jungle gym? Climb/ Fly onto the roof? Make friends? Become a Y2 pupil or teacher at Pope Paul School?

Summer 2 Week 2

Year 2 have thoroughly enjoyed Sports Day and Healthy Eating Week this week.

Everyone tried their best and used their talents on sports day. It was great to welcome the parents to celebrate our sporting achievements and then share our learning environment with them afterwards.
