What a busy week we have had! In Numeracy we have been regrouping numbers to 20. We started by making ten frames and then moved onto the cherry model. The children have found a number of ways to make different numbers. We have had great fun using playdough and conkers to help.
Our role play area has been transformed into a Gruffalo cafe. The children made labels and pictures to decorate the cafe. The food looks delicious! We loved reading the story the Gruffalo and creating our own scary monsters. I have seen some amazing adjectives to describe their characters. On Thursday it was National Poetry Day so we looked at animal rhyming poems. The children enjoyed performing the poems and thinking of lots of rhyming words.
In PE we have been practising our throwing and catching. The children have got very good at catching and using their number skills to add up their points.
Each Friday we are lucky to have Ruth, an Art teacher to help us with out Art skills. We have been using objects from nature to sketch.
Have a lovely weekend!
