Friday 6th December 2024
Another week has flown by and the highlight had to be the Advent service. We were very proud of the Year 6’s achievements in singing, reading and acting. The result was a beautiful reflection of preparing for the birth of Jesus.
On Monday afternoon, the children who have lessons with Mrs Martin, Mrs Guerin and Mrs Moutoussi performed beautifully to their peers and parents and carers who came to watch them.
In English, we have now planned for our final write of our unit. Next week, the children will produce a duel narrative, focusing on creating tension and suspense. In Maths, the children have been looking back on their understanding of fractions from Year 5 and have coped well with the challenges of the reasoning questions they have been given. In Art, the children have returned to continue with their work on activism and next week they will be looking at stencilling to see how it aids their message to be put across to others.
This week, a group of children also spent time in the dining room prepping some culinary delights – shortbread the Mary Berry way! The whole class sampled the outcome which disappeared almost instantly. Well done to Rian, Charlie, Julia, Sarah, Francine and Nathan who were the cooks this week.
Have a wonderful weekend
