Rooted in Love
Catholic Social Teaching at Pope Paul School
At Pope Paul School, we embrace the Rooted in Love programme developed by Caritas Westminster. This programme provides a powerful framework to help pupils connect Gospel values with action in their daily lives and supports our mission of caring for others, respecting every individual, using our talents, doing our best, and building a better world. The Rooted in Love Approach Each half term, our school focuses on one of the six principles of Catholic Social Teaching:
At the start of each half term, the principle is introduced in phase-group assemblies, led by our Liturgy Leaders. Each class then explores the principle through two dedicated lessons:
At the end of the half term, a follow-up assembly brings the whole school back together to celebrate what each class has learned and achieved. This provides a powerful opportunity to share the real-world impact of Catholic Social Teaching. A Growing Community Display As each principle is introduced, an ongoing display in our school evolves to reflect the collective learning and actions of our community. This visual representation highlights our shared journey and reminds us of our commitment to living out Gospel values daily. Through the Rooted in Love programme, we inspire our pupils to put faith into action, nurturing their ability to care for others, respect God’s creation, and work together to build a just and compassionate world. |
