Prayer for Thursday 23rd April 2020

Risen Lord,
shed your light on those who live in the shadow of death
and warm the hearts of those who have lost hope,
that they who daily bear the cross of hunger
may find your Promised Land,
and move from slavery to freedom.
As we proclaim your Easter song
help us to die to greed and rise to justice,
to abandon apathy and take up action,
that rich and poor together may travel the road to freedom,
and be restored to your resurrection life.

Amen.

WALT: Explain our understanding of the Resurrection.

On Easter Sunday we celebrated Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Even though Jesus suffered and died on the cross, his resurrection shows that God’s power is greater than death. God raised Jesus from death to new life.

Write a poem with the title- What Easter means to me.
For example:
A fresh start, a clean heart, forgiven pasts, True love that lasts…That’s what Easter means to me
No longer blind, now Christ I see….That’s what Easter means to me.
Decorate your poem with pictures and symbols of new life.

Amazing adjectives and magnificent measuring from Samuel!
