I hope you all had a wonderful break and enjoyed your time as family over the summer. We have settled well into our new classroom and the children have loved telling each other all about the exciting things they got up to.
This week, the children found out about a planet from our solar system. Then they acted as experts and taught their friends what they knew. They showed excellent teamwork and communication skills, allowing everyone to learn some interesting information.
Today, we became historians during our topic learning about the Anglo Saxons. We considered why they invaded and whether their reasons were ‘push’ or ‘pull’.
In maths, we have begun our learning on place value. We have been reading and writing 5, 6 and 7 digit numbers in both words and figures. We noticed how much trickier it was when there was a 0 as a place holder. Try and practise some over the weekend.
I look forward to seeing you on Monday.
