Week 5

Year 3 have been very busy this week – they have shown fantastic listening and team work skills in all areas of the curriculum – helping each other round three digit numbers and write noun phrases that include contractions!

In science they have been investigating what soil is made of and what types of soils we have in different areas of the school. They have played different games in class to help them learn their spellings, they have all performed well in their tests – thank you for your continued support to learn these at home. Mr Dugan challenged them to solve some very tricky problem solving this afternoon – they had to be very resourceful and resilient.

In RE we have been been focusing on how and where we see God in others and in nature. They were also very creative with their lego models of the Tabernacle and have sketched and painted some fantastic pictures of Pope Paul VI. We would like to say a special thank you to Michael for coming in on Wednesday afternoon and teaching us the hymn ‘All things bright and beautiful’ we really enjoyed singing with you.

Home learning

Please continue with the science home learning project set last week (due in next Wednesday) and practice the week 4 spellings. I haven’t set any matheletic activities but please encourage them to practice their 2, 3, 4 and 5 timetables and rounding skills. I have attached a rounding and ordering question as a challenge – please post your answers on this blog. Please read over the weekend and remember reading records next week.

Have a lovely weekend.
