As we approach the forthcoming SATs tests, the Year 6’s have been working hard during revision sessions this week. We have been focusing on key areas to help all of them feel confident and ready for the challenges ahead. Please encourage them to continue reviewing at home and remind them to stay positive and believe in their abilities. The SATs are just one part of their learning journey, and we’re proud of all the effort they’ve put in. (There are revision activities on the class page under the ‘revision activities 2025’ tab).

We had a fantastic time in our cricket lesson this week! The children had the chance to practice their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some outdoor activity and refresh their minds while engaging in some friendly activity.  On Thursday the girls netball team played well and won both games against Ladbrooke and Wroxham Schools.

Yesterday, we also had a special occasion to celebrate this week—VE Day. The class were joined by their Reception partners.  We chatted about school life and the types of games children played in the playground in the 1940’s and after a soft drink and ‘nice’ biscuit (biscuits that were around in the 1940s), they went off into the playground and played hopscotch and noughts and crosses.  It was a wonderful time of bonding and learning history together.

Today, the May procession took place and the house captains, who lead the assembly, did an excellent job, guiding us through this reflective occasion. Well done to Isabelle who sang the first verse of the Ave Maria song.  Their leadership and confidence shone through, and we are so proud of them for carrying out their roles with such dedication. A special mention goes to Chloe and Charlie who led the procession so confidently and the Laudato Si Leaders: Nathan, Raylan, Aram and Finn B  who assisted with the flowers.

Additionally, Year 6 have been fortunate enough to witness a significant moment in history—the voting of a new Pope. We discussed the process and the importance of this event, which sparked meaningful conversations about faith, leadership, and global events. The children were fascinated by the tradition and the impact it has worldwide.

Wishing you and your families a lovely weekend.
