Friday 7th March 2025

Another busy week has flown by in Year 6. On Tuesday we celebrated Mardi Gras with colourful clothes, made and tossed our own pancakes, took part in pancake obstacle races and performed the whole school mardi gras dance. The children looked fabulous!  Well done goes to our sports captains, Sienna, Charlie, Loui, Andreas and Emily for setting up the obstacle races for all classes to take part in and explaining to each class what they had to do.  To top off the day the whole school came together to perform their Mardi Gras dance.  Every lunchtime last week and during Monday and Tuesday’s lunchtime this week our sports captains have been encouraging the children to come into the main hall to practise the dance.  A special thank you goes to Emily and Sienna who led the whole school in dance out into the key stage two playground to perform!

Following on from our day of fun, KS2 then approached Ash Wednesday with great reverence as they took part in mass with the rest of KS2. Their attendance at church and their wonderful singing really enhanced the liturgy.  Thank you to Isabelle and Rian who read and to Nathan and Raylan who were altar servers.

On Thursday, it was back to dressing up, this time for World Book Day! We had a real range of characters! As part of our celebrations, Year 6 visited their Reception buddies to share a story.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend
