Year 5 – 17/05/24

Year 5 spent their mornings this week working on an art project, where they were introduced to typography design and learned how to create their own fonts and designs. They also studied the works of an artist and a designer who used lettering combined with maps to create narrative maps. For their final piece, they created their own visual maps that tell a story about themselves.

On Tuesday, the children started a new Geography unit with Mrs. Heymoz titled “Why are mountains so important?”

In RE, we focused on the upcoming Feast of Pentecost and its significance in the Liturgical Year. We discussed what it meant for the apostles to be ‘filled with the Holy Spirit’ and reflected on what it means for us to be modern-day apostles filled with the Holy Spirit.

Spellings for this week are words containing ‘ough’ and are:

plough

Have a lovely weekend; see you on Monday!
