Year 2 Blog Week 1

It has been a busy first week of learning in Year 2. In Religion we thought about our hopes for this new school year and the children created a beautiful display for our sacred space in the classroom.

In Maths we have been looking at number and place value. In English we have been learning about different types of poems. The Year 2 Author of the Month is the very talented Roald Dahl. So far we have enjoyed reading the wonderful Esio Trot and marvelled at the tale of The Magic Finger We have now moved onto FANTASTIC Mr Fox.. We had great fun performing and reciting Roald Dahl’s wonderful poem, The Crocodile and the children created some magnificent Crocky-Wock headbands to wear while performing the poem.

In Science, the children delighted in using the iPads in our school allotments to record all the different parts of a plant.

It is so lovely to see the children back together again and now in year two. Finn has enjoyed seeing his friends again and seems happy in himself. His opinion of year two so far is “It’s ok but our teacher Miss Davey told us she will be strict with us and she is very strict” Ha Ha My response was well you may sure you behave and do your work and you’ll get along just fine.
I will continue to look forward to the weekly blogs.
