Our Charity Work

One of our aims in Catholic Education is to support the Catholic Church’s work of sharing Christ’s love in service to others. With this in mind we encourage our children, parents and community to support many different Charities.

Mission  Together.

Mission Together is the Pope’s overseas mission charity for children. As part of our Lenten almsgiving work  we support this charity.  We are able to assist missionaries working with some of the poorest children of the world.

Westminster Catholic children’s Society

We recognise that we can support people who need our help much closer to home.  The Catholic children’s society works to support disadvantaged children and families in the UK. As part of our Lenten almsgiving work  we fundraise for them.

The Passage Westminster

The legacy of St Vincent and his work for the poor is a focus of us at Pope Paul School as St Vincent is the patron saint of our Parish. During Advent, we remember the homeless and support the Parish in its donation of gifts for the homeless in London. We donate new socks every Advent as our gift to the homeless in London.

Children’s choice

We encourage our children to recognise the needs of others and the children will advocate charities that they would like to support. In September 2016, the children were moved by the refugee crisis and wanted to raise money to help those in need. The House Captains from St Vincent organised a cake sale and the money raised was sent to Secours Catholique in Calais, together with funds raised from our Parish.

Fairtrade

We are also a fair-trade school and support Fair Trade.

Mary’s Meals

Our parish OLSV are currently supporting Mary’s Meals . This charity is a global movement supported by people from many walks of life and different backgrounds. Their mission is to enable people to offer their money, goods, skills, time, or prayer, and through this involvement, provide the most effective help to those suffering the effects of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest community.

We support our parish in fundraising for this charity.
