?Mount Grace Pre-Season Netball Tournament.
On Wednesday 28th October, our netball team played in the Mount Grace Pre-Season tournament. For many in the team it was their first experience of playing netball competitively, so you can imagine our delight when we won 4 and drew 1! ??
Very well done to Ruby, Louise, Amelia Z, Rosie, Lily, Jessica, William and Rory. It looks like it is going to be an exciting season.
?Our next netball match is on Tuesday 18th October v Little Heath at home.
⚽Mount Grace 7-A-Side Football Tournament.
On Saturday 1st October, our boys football team played in the Mount Grace 7-A-side tournament. We were in Group A, where we faced Ladbrooke, Oakmere and Brookmans Park.
In our first game, Harvey and Antonio linked up very well, making it difficult for the oppositions defence to clear the ball. Oliver and Alan then scored in quick succession against Ladbrooke, closely followed by captain Josh H, making the final score 3-0.
We defended well against Oakmere, with Will making some terrific saves in goal and Luis putting in many crucial tackles. But unfortunately the result went in Oakmere’s favour (0-2).
However, the team bounced back after their defeat, beating Brookmans Park 3-0. Alan scored a brilliant header and Oliver scored two from the left wing! Luca and Daniel were solid at the back and this win meant we had reached the quarter finals ?
We drew Wroxham in the quarter final and although we knew it would be a hard match everyone felt positive. The team played brilliantly. Josh M’s working rate was great and again Will was called upon to make some important saves. However, after the score being level at full time and extra time, the team faced a penalty shoot out! Despite a brave perforamnce we lost the shoot out 3-2.
I would like to say well done to the players for their determination and sportsmanship and thank the parents and staff who came to watch. It looks like it is going to be a great season.
⚽Our next match is on Thursday 13th October v Little Heath, away.
Miss Pringle.
