Year 6 – 21/01/22

On Wednesday, as part of our RE topic about God being with us in the world today, we went searching for God in Darkes Lane. We found him in the memorial garden next to the station, in the buds of new life coming through on the trees, the lady in Sainsburys who smiled and waved at us, and in the cleaner who so diligently keeps our local space litter-free.

Next week is Other Faith Week, when the school will be learning about Hinduism. You will have received a letter earlier in the week about our trip to Bhaktivedanta Manor, where we will have the opportunity to experience a cart ride pulled by oxen, take part in a group role play, taste a freshly prepared hot vegetarian feast, see the shrine and arati ceremony, experience traditional face painting and dress up in traditional dress. It will be an amazing insight into the Hindu faith and the children will gain a lot from it.

We need 2 more adult helpers to accompany us for the day, so if you are available and willing to join us next Thursday, then please get in touch with me!
