Year 3 Week 5 Friday 28th March

RE.

PE.
Please note, this week was the last swimming lesson. There will be no swimming next week.

The children are enjoying our Handball skills and are beginning to use them in small matches.

Art
Over the last few weeks, the children have been developing their mixed media approaches to sea and landscapes, building upon use of mark making and colour. They started with mark making in their sketchbooks, inspired by various artists. They then went on to make their own sea/landscape and this week they developed their skills even further by adding stitch to their compositions.

Maths Day
On Wednesday, the school took part in a Maths Day challenge. Year 3 worked in teams to answer 5 challenges. They included Maths puzzles, number robots and visual estimation.

French
This week in French, we learnt about furniture and items we find in our classroom. Miss Lambie and Mrs Ellis were so impressed with how many the children remembered!

Reminders:

  • Our KS2 children have been busy practising for the Stations of The Cross Service which takes place on Wednesday 2nd April. All children should be in the church hall by 6.15pm. There is an expectation that all KS2 children attend this service as it is a crucial part of their RE learning this term. We have been practising our songs, acting and reading so please encourage your child to learn their words ready for next week.
  • As you are aware, we are planning to have our Easter Egg hunt in school on Friday 4th April. Please give permission and make payment via schoolcomms so that this event can go ahead. It is an important part of our fund-raising efforts!

We wish you a peaceful weekend and look forward to next week,
Mrs Poyiadzis and Miss Lambie
