Year 2 Blog Week 6

In Religion this week we have been learning that the Old Testament has a book of songs and poems called Psalms. The children thought about the meaning of Psalm 1 and created some wonderful artwork for it. We went on to write our own verse based on Psalm 1.

Year 2 used their cardboard boxes to create some colourful enclosures just like the ones we saw in the Reptile House in London Zoo. The children went on to write some amazing reports about the Grand Opening of Joan Procter’s Reptile House in London Zoo.

The remaining cardboard boxes were used to create our very own 17th century street scene. Just like during the Great Fire of London, our timber framed houses with thatched rooves were positioned precariously close together. We also learnt about the Town Crier’s job and we had lots of fun getting into character and spreading the news…. Hear Ye, Hear Ye, a fire has started in Pudding lane and it is spreading fast!
