Year 2 Blog Week 4

It has been another fun-filled week of learning in Year 2. In Religion this week we have been learning about the Sacrament of Baptism. The children stepped out of the classroom and walked down to OLSV church to see Fr. Shaun and learn more about this special Sacrament.

We also continued work on our topic – The Great Fire of London.

The year was 1666,
Late one September night,
The baker’s shop in Pudding Lane
Glowed with an orange light.

Inspired by some poems and songs about the Great Fire of London the children created some wonderful paintings and used silhouettes to great effect. Watch this space for our finished display!

The children also enjoyed a very special drama workshop with the Perform Drama company. Everyone got into character and journeyed under the deep blue sea. There were plenty of surprised starfish and a few hungry sharks swimming about. It was a lot of fun!
