Year 2 Blog Week 21

It has been another busy week in Year 2. On Monday we were unfortunately unable to visit the Jain Temple as a fallen tree was blocking the road. This trip will be rescheduled for next term. Year 2 attended a Judaism workshop as part of our Other Faiths Week 2020. The children learnt all about the Feast of Passover and why Jewish people eat Matzah bread for their Seder meal.

This week we started to plant up our allotment beds with our potatoes, onions and garlic. We look forward to seeing the signs of new life and growth next term.

On Tuesday we celebrated Safer Internet Day 2020 – Together for a better Internet. The children explored E-safety and Cyberbullying through a wonderful tale – ‘Troll Stinks’ by Jeanne Willis and Tony Ross. Year 2 identified all the things the Billy Goats did wrong with the mobile phone they found. Most importantly the children identified what Baby Troll should have done when she received the nasty messages… Block, Tell and Eject!
