Year 2 Blog Week 2
Our second full week in Year 2 has flown by. This week we had our whole school mass to celebrate the beginning of our new school year. The children all showed great reverence during the mass and sang beautifully.
This week in Religion we started our unit – Beginning with God. We looked at the story of Moses and the Burning Bush. The children produced some wonderful retellings of this story.
In English we continued work on our poetry unit. The children created some fantastic list poems all about autumn which were full of amazing adjectives.
We are number and place value crazy in Year 2. We have continued work on regrouping and the children have also been learning about different ways of representing number. We used dienes, money, whole and part models as well as pictorial representations.
In P.E. this week we had great fun playing team building games and testing our reactions.
