Year 2 Blog Week 19

Time really flies when you’re having fun and working hard. Year 2 completed their their maths learning on statistics this week. The children interpreted and constructed simple pictograms, tally charts and block diagrams. They applied this learning to find out what we should grow in our vegetable patches next term. The results are in and the winner is …. Rainbow Chard. Year 2 can’t wait to grow this colourful vegetable.IMG_1222 IMG_1221

In English we have been looking at poetry and the children really enjoyed learning ‘The Owl and the Pussycat.’ Year 2 performed this poem for Reception and Year 3 and everyone was very impressed.IMG_1178 IMG_1179 IMG_1180 IMG_1181 IMG_1182 IMG_1183 IMG_1184 IMG_1185 This week, for Other Faiths week, we visited St. Giles church. The churchwarden, William Masterson, gave a wonderful talk about the history of the church and answered all of our questions. It was very interesting  to see the similarities and differences between St. Giles Church and Our Lady and St. Vincent church. Year 2 showed great respect and represented our school beautifully. IMG_1217 IMG_1214 IMG_1213 IMG_1212 IMG_1207 IMG_1201 IMG_1189 IMG_1188
