Year 1 Blog Week 29

This week we celebrated the month of May by holding our May procession.  We reflected on the life of Our Lady and processed towards the Peace Garden where we placed our flowers on our May altar.

O Mary, we crown thee with blossoms today,

Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May.

In science this week we have been investigating the wind. Can you see the wind? How can you tell if it is a windy day? The children had some brilliant answers to these questions.

‘I know it’s windy because I can see the clouds moving.’ Beau

‘I can feel the wind on my face.’ Nichola

I know it’s windy when the branches on trees are swaying.’ Elena

The children made some colourful windmills and had great fun testing them out and recording their findings.
