Year 1 Blog Week 26

Alleluia! He is risen!

Year 1 created a beautiful display for our classroom prayer table to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord.

The children also decorated eggs to symbolise new life.

The children looked at the Resurrection story – The road to Emmaus. The children created their own road with signposts in the classroom and acted out the story. They then went on to create some wonderful retellings of this story.

Year 1 had great fun leading the St. George’s Day assembly. The children told the story of St. George and the Dragon. There was lots of brilliant acting and the children really brought the story to life and helped everyone to remember St. George for his courage and bravery.

Well done Year 1, your retelling of the story of St George and the Dragon was brilliant. Year 3 really enjoyed your drama and the dragon dance was amazing. We read the story in our class afterwards and your version helped us understand it. Thank you.
