Welcome to Year 6

Welcome back!

It’s been a wonderful two days in the Year 6 classroom, with plenty of hard work, lots of smiles and a great deal of hand washing!

Our focus has been on launching the Year of Hope, which began with an Act of Worship yesterday morning in which the children buried their negative thoughts from lockdown and wrote their hopes for the year ahead on a butterfly. They followed this with writing beautiful poems about what hope is like to them. Today, we looked at a song, animation, short story and hymn; the children discussed and wrote about the messages of hope contained within them.

Please note that Year 6’s PE days will be Wednesdays and Fridays, starting from next week. Please ensure that your child comes to school dressed in their full PE kits on these days. Thank you.
