This week has been another one in which the children have worked hard in all subjects.
In Maths they have continued with their work on regrouping and also learnt about Roman Numerals using the story of 61 as a stimulus. In English, they have written their first draft of their creature poems based on the Small Dragon poem by Brian Patten (https://www.poetryarchive.org/poem/small-dragon) and have been editing their work. In RE the children have learnt about the beliefs of the Creation story and about the legacy of St Vincent.
A hit this week in our spelling sessions was the ‘Word Wager’ Game. The children embraced the challenge of learning their spellings in another way and have said that they found this a great way to learn their spellings. As a result, we had lots of happy children after their spelling test this morning!
Home Learning is an RE focus. A letter has come home with the children. Please click here to see a copy:
This week’s spellings are: peace, piece, main, mane, fair, fare, bear, bare, blew, blue (homophones)
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
