Spring Term Week 4 w.b. 6th February January 2023

Spring Term Week 4 w.b. 6th February January 2023

In Religion Year 1 reflected on the The Beatitudes again and thought about how they can be peacemakers at home, in the classroom and in the playground. They then looked at the life of Mother Teresa and thought about how she lived her life by following The Beatitudes and carrying out God’s work.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God”

In Maths year 1 have challenged themselves with lots of odd and even puzzles.

They have continued to enjoy playing these games for their mental math warm ups.

In English the children worked hard to re-write the story of ‘Where’s my Teddy?’ They are looking forward to sharing their stories with you after the holidays.

Phonic sounds taught this week: ie (chief) y makes an ee sound (happy) y makes an igh sound (fly)

Tricky words: people. Mr, Mrs, looked, asked, called

Thank you to all those that were able to attend parent’s evening this week. It was lovely to celebrate your child’s progress with you and show you their learning.

The Year 1 Team wish you a safe and happy half term and look forward to seeing you again on Monday 20th February.

Happy holidays! 🙂
