Spring 2 Week 3
We have had a fun week for Science Week. We made parachutes and kites and flew them in the playground. Then we had a important job! We had to help Mrs Heymoz to find the best biscuit to dunk in her tea. First we predicted which one we thought would be the best, then we planned what we were going to do. Next we tested each of the biscuits by dunking them in tea for 5 seconds. The only biscuit that did not go soggy was the shortbread. To end the investigation, we wrote a conclusion. During the week we tested different objects to see if they were magnetic and we predicted and testing what objects float and what objects sunk. We made boats and tested whether they floated.
In Phonics, we have learnt the tricky word all and the sounds oi, ow and ear. Please practise these at home.
In Maths, we have been adding to amounts using a variety of resources.
In Religion, we thought about how we can become closer to Jesus during to Lent. The children wrote what they could do to be like Jesus during Lent. The children made a cactus to remind them of Jesus being in the desert. They wrote notes to Jesus to help him feel less alone and made dens outside that Jesus could sleep in while he was in the desert.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Next week, our learning is around The Scarecrows Wedding. On Friday, we will be role playing the wedding so the children can wear their own party clothes if they would like to.
