Spring 1 Week 4

In Science, the children planned and conducted their own investigations to find out how the temperature of water affect the time it takes for ice to melt.

They had to decide how to record their findings and then make sure that only one variable was changed. The experiments was repeated to ensure they were fair and accurate.

In English, the class have learnt about the structures of haiku and tanka poems. This then enabled them to write their own poetry.

In History, the children enjoyed learning about Boadicca and her army. Next lesson they will be finding out what changes the Romans made to how people live.

In Maths, the focus have been on different strategies for multiplying. Please use this example to help support your child with the activities sent home today.

Reminders:

  • Mrs Heymoz spoke to all of KS2 children this week and reminded them that they do not need to bring toys, figures or unnecessary stationary to school.  The children have gone through their class drawers and have put anything like this in their school bags so please help them by emptying them over the weekend.
  • Please ensure that home learning packs are sent in on Friday and that reading records are in their bags everyday.
  • Earrings must not be worn for swimming.

Have a restful weekend
