It has been a fabulous week of active outdoor science learning. Please have a look at all the class blogs to see the amazing range of activities that have taken place. Yesterday it was a wonderful sight watching the children go home with rockets, kites, planes, daffodils, owl pictures and St Patrick clover! I hope you enjoyed sharing some of your child’s science learning in class yesterday. Thank you for all the support you give to our school.
What a wonderful assembly we had this morning! Thank you to our Year 3 class for your beautiful dance interpretation of the story of St Patrick. Well done to Evie, Isabelle, Louise and Aishling for entertaining us with your dancing and to the choir for your beautiful rendition of Danny Boy and The Salley Gardens.
Last week our Netball teams played against Cranborne School. The teams played brilliantly and it was a pleasure to have three new members (Maddie, Keira and Sophie) in the squad. The A team won 7-1 and the B team won 11-0. Well done to Ruby and Sophie, who were voted player of the match by the opposition.
This week our girls football team was in action against Oakmere School. It was a very close match and after conceding first the girls worked hard to score two in the second half and won 2-1. Well done to Jessica, who was voted player of the match and to Meghan, who scored her first goal!
Well done to the Y5 and Y6 pupils, who took part in the Dame Alice Owen Indoor Athletics this week. It was a great team performance, with the boys coming 2nd and the girls 3rd – making us 3rd overall.
It was wonderful to welcome the Over50s club to our school today. Luca, Joshua H, Matthew M and Temi from Year 6 welcomed our guests and guided them to their places in the hall. The choir sang beautifully and Year 3 presented the story of St Patrick in words and music. Mrs McNamara and Miss Donatantonio provided the music for our Irish dancers, playing the tin whistle and piano. We are extremely lucky to have such talented children and staff! Parishioners played an important role 50 years ago in ensuring that a new school providing Catholic Education was built in Potters Bar. We thank them for this commitment and were privileged today to welcome them back.
Today for our act of worship we put our “Alleluia” banner away in our special box. We made a Lenten path of our promises as we grow in our love for Jesus this Lent.
Sunday 19th February
Today our children had the opportunity to watch the men’s national shield and patrons cup basketball finals which took place at Hatfield.
The matches were both fast and exciting. It was great to watch and meet some of the star players. A huge thank you goes to Miss Pringle for organising this fantastic trip for the children.
A huge well done to Daniel and Matthew McD in year 6 and Ellie, Adam and Harvey in year 5, who took part in the County Cross Country this morning at Westminster Lodge. You all ran brilliantly.
Thank you to Mrs Murphy for coaching the children and to the parents and Mrs Heymoz for their support this morning
I hope you like the snowy scene!
Please come to enjoy a glass of Prosecco on Wednesday 1st February at 7 till 8pm. We would like to celebrate the fantastic Christmas Fayre and start planning the special events for the school’s 50th anniversary. Everyone is welcome.
Yesterday the children were presented with a commemorative badge depicting our new 50 Years logo. There was great excitement and pride as the children proudly left assembly wearing their new badges. We hope you like them!
