Reception Week 2
What a busy week the children have had! There are definitely some very tired children and teachers this afternoon!
The children have continued getting to know their new learning environment and each other. We started the week off focussing on the story, ‘Owl Babies’ and related it to times in our lives when we have really missed members of our own families. The children have really enjoyed learning about owls and other nocturnal animals too.
The children also opened up their very own grocery shop this week. It is proving to be a very popular role play area and the shop keepers are struggling to keep up with the consumer demands!
The children also spent some time in the International Garden this week, reading books from the outdoor library. They then explored the field and had lots of fun rolling down the hill on the way back to class!
On Wednesday, the children participated in their first class Act of Worship. We were so impressed with the reverence and respect that they demonstrated.
On Thursday, the children participated in Roald Dahl Day by reading ‘The Enormous Crocodile’. They then made junk model crocodiles, drew pictures about the story and created crocodile puppets.
Wishing you all a wonderful, restful weekend,
The Reception Team.
What a busy week! They look like they have had a great week! Enjoy your well deserved weekend !! Thank you
Lovely photos, they all look like they are having a great time. I also now know why Isabelle has been desperate to bring her owl toys into school 🙂
Great week I can’t believe how well they have settled. It looks like a great time was had.
Very busy week, once again lovely pictures and a pleasure to see the children taking part in activities!
Gene has loved reading Owl Babies and as we have the book at home he’s wanted to read each night before bed. He’s also loved telling us all about nocturnal animals and has named quite a few. Looks like they’ve had so much fun !
