Friday November 15th
We began our week with a special remembrance assembly, followed by a pilgrimage around the classrooms to take a look at the prayer tables in each class. Well done, Year 6 for the way you supported your reading partners.
This week the children have been very mature in their approach to their first set of Mock SATs tests. They have all been absolutely amazing and we could not be prouder of their efforts and enthusiasm, responding with resilience and character – so, well done Year 6! Myself and Mrs Lines have spoken to the children individually about their results and as a class we have revisited some of the questions that they found challenging.
It has been anti-bullying week this week so the children have learnt about the importance of ‘Choosing Respect’ which has been this week’s focus. The class completed many activities together as a group and in small groups…..they especially enjoyed the role playing that they took part in yesterday afternoon!
Following on from Odd Socks Day, the children spent time learning the song and dance that CBBC star Andy Day and his band, Andy and the Odd Socks have put together for this year.
You can also listen to the song here.
The Liturgy Group this week have been busy in their new pray focus every Wednesday Lunchtime which will be Lectio Divina. Thank you to Deacon Shaun and Miss Donatantonio for their support with this. The Laudato Si Group have been busy with their Conker Competition and with the help of Mrs Moccia they chose three winners for the competition. They even produced their own certificates to hand out to the winners and spoke in assembly. Well done Raylan, Nathan, Andreas and Aram!
In PE this week, our dance was ‘The Lambeth Walk’. The children had a wonderful time putting on their best cockney swagger!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Mathletics – Please complete the activities that have been assigned (and for some children some activities have been reassigned).

Geography- Create a poster (A4) about one of Britain’s National Parks. This can include information about its location, special landmarks or local wildlife etc. This is due next Friday and will be stuck into Geography books. Therefore, it will need to be slightly chopped down so don’t go right to the edge. It will also need to be of a high presentational standard, so please try your best.
