This week we have been auditioning for singing parts in the Advent Service (Wednesday 4th December). The children have been so fantastic in having a go in front of their peers. Every child has been given a printed song sheet to learn over the next two weeks for their home learning.
The lyrics and links to the songs that we are singing can be found here. It is so important that all children learn the songs as this adds to the prayerfulness of the evening service as we come together as a school community.
In RE the children have been examining Luke’s gospel and the roles of Mary and John the Baptist. They have been using the bible to aid them in their discussions. In Maths we have revisited factors, multiples and square numbers.
In English we have been identifying tension in suspense in writing and how we can transfer an animation to written text.
On Thursday afternoon, we walked with Year 5 to Mount Grace to watch Shrek the Musical lead by the students there. The children really enjoyed the performance and what made it even more special was that two of the leading roles were acted by two past pupils – William and Owen! Our class were so impressed that they wanted their autographs!
Have a lovely weekend!
