Head, shoulders, knees and toes.
What a week it has been! We kicked off the week with a visit from Olympic gold medal winner Nicola White. In our special assembly we heard all about Nicola’s adventures in Rio and what it takes to win an Olympic gold medal. Two lucky members of Year 1 were chosen to ask Nicola some questions. Elena asked Nicola if she played any other sports and Manus asked Nicola about her diet. Nicola has definitely inspired us all. A big thank you to Miss Pringle and FOPPS for organising this wonderful visit.
This week in Phonics we started work on our Set 2 Sounds. The children have been learning all about digraphs and trigraphs – also known as ‘Special Friends’. Year 1 applied their learning of these sounds to make up words to feed our phonics frog Fred.
In Science we have started our new topic – Humans. The children put their scientific hats on and labelled all the parts of the human body. They created some brilliant posters.
