We are kind and caring.
This week was Anti-Bullying week. In Year 1 the children looked at the story of Mill the Tadpole and explored how she was treated by the other tadpoles. The children took part in some role play activities and designed some beautiful posters encouraging everyone to be kind and caring. We also enjoyed watching a brilliant production about anti-bullying in the hall with the rest of the school.
In Religion this week the children created a Jesse Tree for our display above our prayer table. The children have been learning that during the season of Advent one of the ways we remember all those who were part of Jesus’ family is by making a Jesse Tree. The children traced their hands and cut them out. We put the hands on the wall in the shape of a tree. We also put symbols on the branches to tell the stories from Creation to the Birth of Jesus.
In English the children recounted Sooty the Swallow’s walk and all the animals he met along the way. They did some drama activities and created some colourful story maps before writing their recounts. The children also sent Sooty some postcards telling him about what they have been learning about in school.
