It has been a very busy end to our half term this week. We began our Spirituality Week by creating prayers for a buddy in year 2. The children also asked their buddy to pay for them. On Wednesday, we enjoyed taking part in the prayer stations and the feeling of being still. We thought about people who needed our prayers all over the word, as well as those in our community. Towards the end of the week, we focused on The Ascension and how we imagined it to look.
In literacy, we created or own taste of Mesopotamia based on the descriptions from our much loved class book. To begin with, we had to work out the quantities of the ingredients through a maths challenge. Once we had those, we created our delicious treat. With this hands on knowledge, we wrote some fantastic instructions that helped us to broaden our use of fronted adverbials.
Year 4 have been bitten by the creative writing bug this week. Our new writing area has inspired children to write their own stories- I can’t wait to read them once they are finished.
Finally, thank you to the parents who attended the celebration morning today. It was lovely to see so many and the children were excited to create their chariots with you.
It has been a wonderful half term and it has been a pleasure getting to know you all. I am incredibly proud of the children’s approach to their learning and the enthusiasm they are showing. I hope you all enjoy taking part in the science home learning activities over the holiday.
Have a fantastic break,
